Police officials from Philadelphia and Milwaukee slammed #BlackLivesMatter’s provocative tactics on Fox News Sunday today, as well as blaming the media for ginning up an inaccurate narrative about the police.
Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn blamed “the relentless propaganda war being waged against American police officers by our network television stations,” and lamented how a few troubling instances of police conduct have helped created a false narrative.
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, meanwhile, said it’s “ignorant” for #BlackLivesMatter protesters to be chanting things like “pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon,” and argued if they want to be taken seriously, they need to stop yelling and start engaging in a dialogue.
Both men kept going after how the media covers these things, with Flynn pointing to activists suddenly appearing “all over the TV running their mouth off about racist oppression” and Ramsey saying there are thousands of non-violent confrontations between the police and civilians that no one wants to talk about.
