The White House press briefing was interrupted by a reported bomb threat today, but the second it resumed, Josh Earnest was faced a barrage of press questions about what the hell just happened.
Reporters were escorted out of the briefing room by the Secret Service and their cameras were covered up, but President Obama was not moved and White House staffers didn’t move.
Naturally, lots of reporters wanted to know why they were moved but no one else was. ABC’s Jon Karl grilled Earnest on why every single news organization’s camera––inside and outside––was covered. Earnest said he was moved to his office so he doesn’t know what happened.
Earnest also received lots of questions about why it was okay for him to be moved to his office but the press had to be pushed outside. Earnest kept saying they should talk to the Secret Service and made it incredibly clear he wanted to change topics.
They didn’t let him off so easy.
