Priebus: I Think Trump Will Do Better with Black Voters Than Our Past 2 Nominees

Hey, remember that 2012 RNC autopsy when the GOP concluded that they needed to do better with minorities? John Dickerson asked Reince Priebus on Face the Nation what the hell happened to that.

Dickerson said it sure sounds like Donald Trump is doing the complete opposite of what the GOP wanted. Priebus dismissed that and said Trump deserves credit for going into black communities in the past few months. He also insisted that the Republican party has worked tirelessly to do way more minority outrage this time around.

Dickerson had to point out to him that Trump’s numbers with minorities and women are “so bad” now.

And then Priebus went ahead and said this:

“It’s not because of the effort that had not been put in. First of all, I contend he’s gonna do better in black communities than we have done four and eight years ago.”

(Despite those aforementioned abysmal numbers for Trump.)
