‘Race for the White House’ Becomes CNN’s Highest-Rated Original Series
The debut episode brought in 2.564 million total viewers, 885,000 among adults in the coveted 25-54 demographic, setting a record for the most watched original series telecast ever on CNN.
Each episode of Race for the White House, which is co-produced by Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, is devoted to exploring a single contentious election. The premiere episode chronicled the 1960 race between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon; the next (to air March 13) will spotlight the 1860 contest, in which Abraham Lincoln was elected.
Race for the White House had a strong lead-in, making its debut just after the Democratic debate Sunday night, which netted 5.5 million total viewers and 1.788 million in demo.
