Recently-Fired ESPN Host Arrested for Assaulting Woman; He Blames ‘Rough Sex’

More than a month after being fired from ESPN for allegedly using racial slurs against a co-host, Numbers Never Lie ex-host Hugh Douglas is back in the news. This time, according to CBS News, he was arrested for assaulting a woman at a hotel.

According to Hartford Superior Court documents, former NFL defense end Douglas grabbed the unidentified woman by the neck and “slammed her into the walls several times.” When he spoke with investigators, however, the former TV host reportedly said the injuries were simply the result of “rough sex.”

The former NFL star was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation. His next court appearance will be in late October.

Douglas was fired from ESPN in August after reports surfaced of him allegedly calling his co-host Michael Smith a “house n*gger” and an “Uncle Tom” during a “drunken” off-air confrontation.
