Reince Priebus: Democrats Need to ‘Grow Up’ and Accept That They Lost Election

Incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus scolded John Lewis and other Democrats this morning raising questions about Donald Trump‘s legitimacy.

Priebus said it was “disappointing” and “irresponsible” for Lewis to say what he did, and he told George Stephanopoulos that it’s a little ridiculous for people to be upset at Trump for his Twitter response.

If people don’t like it, Priebus said, “too bad.”

Stephanopoulos pointed out that Trump questioned Obama’s legitimacy for years by playing up birtherism. Priebus insisted those questions were put to bed years ago and that questioning Obama’s legitimacy is different from questioning the legitimacy of the election itself.

Priebus also said that President Obama should be stepping up to tell Democrats to “grow up and accept the fact that they lost the election.”
