Rick Santorum Accuses Left of ‘Obstruction’ in Tussle With Jennifer Granholm: Dems Are Saying ‘Hell No to Anything’

Jennifer Granholm and Rick Santorum had a roller coaster of a chat on CNN tonight debating Bob Woodward‘s book and Democratic political tactics.

Granholm started things off by contrasting Woodward’s credibility as a journalist with President Donald Trump‘s constant stream of lies and false statements. Santorum said Trump has to tone things down in order to focus on the issues more, but Granholm leapt on that by saying the upcoming midterm elections will be a referendum on how Trump has, in her opinion, dragged the White House into a state of chaos that government officials constantly have to maintain.

“All behind the scenes stuff goes to the point of the election, which is that people do not want a bunch of spineless yes-men. They want a check on this president,” Granholm said. “Trump won’t be on the ballot, but what will be on the ballot is can we get somebody in there who can check this man? The more of these stories that come out, the more people are sick and tired of this poop-show in Washington.”

Santorum turned up the heat from there.

“What you are saying is impeachment?” He said. “That’s your check? A complete obstruction. Don’t cooperate with everything. Shut down everything.”

Granholm pushed back on that, and that led to the two of them locking horns about whether the government is really doing enough to act as a check and balance on Trump.

“The Democrats are not effectively checking. They are saying, hell no to anything…” Santorum said.

“That’s not true,” Granholm responded.
