Robert Gibbs: Hillary Only Using Personal Email ‘Highly Unusual’

Former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said on The Today Show Tuesday that it’s “highly unusual” for Hillary Clinton to have only used a personal email account to conduct official business while working as Secretary of State, in contrast to current Press Secretary Josh Earnest today sorta, kinda defending Clinton on the matter.

Matt Lauer asked, “Can you give me one good reason why she would have done that?” Gibbs couldn’t, and said it was “highly unusual” for Clinton not to use official email, especially given all the briefings officials get at the White House about preserving all emails.

He said, “I think it’s something they’re going to have to explain in good measure today and probably figure out how to get a lot of these emails, or as many as they can, back into the archive.”

After all, Gibbs pointed out, it’s easier for critics to say she’s hiding something than for her to “explain why she used her private email.”
