In an emotional interview with CNN’s Gloria Borger, Mitt Romney, Ann Romney and their son Tagg Romney open up about the family’s ongoing battle against Ann’s multiple sclerosis.
The CNN documentary, Romney Revealed: Family, Faith, and the Road to Power, will premiere this Sunday. A portion of the 90 minute special centers on the emotional medical struggles with which the Romney family has had to contend.
In the interview, Mitt Romney describes the moment in that doctor’s office when Ann was diagnosed.
“It’s a very, very frightening place to be,” said Ann Romney.
“Even when I was as sick as that, he would curl up in bed with me,” she continued, recalling her husband’s affection through tears.
Also interviewed for the CNN documentary are Romney’s colleagues like the individual in charge of the vice presidential vetting process, Beth Myers, and former Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) who opens up about Romney’s ill-fated 1994 challenge to his father, the late Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy.
The documentary will debut on Sunday, August 26, at 8 p.m. EST prior to the Republican National Convention which begins in Monday, August 27.
