The Oregon Ducks celebrated their 59-20 win over Florida State in Thursday night’s Rose Bowl game by chanting “No means no” at the losing team’s quarterback, Jameis Winston, who was investigated for raping a fellow student in 2012.
Fox Sports West reporter Bear Heiser captured the moment on Vine, which also mocks Florida’s controversial “Tomahawk chop” cheer, where it has now been “looped” more than 15 million times:
In response, Oregon’s coach Mark Helfrich issued a statement saying the players will be punished: “We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the postgame. This is not what our programs stand for, and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally.”
Winston was never charged for the alleged sexual assault, but as a 2014 New York Times investigation revealed, police never obtained even interviewed Winston about the accusations, let alone took a DNA sample from him or tried to obtain a video of the alleged incident taken by one of his teammates.
