Rosie O’Donnell Takes Some Shots at The View Co-Host Nicolle Wallace on Letterman
The hosts of the new and (possibly) improved The View have been quick to squash any rumors of feuding amongst themselves, especially between the left-leaning Rosie O’Donnell and the right-leaning Nicolle Wallace. So it was a bit of a surprise to hear O’Donnell take some not-so-subtle shots at Wallace during her interview with David Letterman, set to air tonight.
O’Donnell told Letterman that the first time she met the former communications director for George W. Bush’s White House, she asked her about the decision for the president to fly over the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina without landing. “I don’t know if that was the best way to open conversation with her,” she said, noting that Wallace was actually away for her wedding when that all went down.
Asked by Letterman what “high moments” Wallace has from her time with the Bush Administration, O’Donnell answered, “Well, maybe illegal wars, there was that.” She added, “Maybe it’s me, I’m against torture on the whole.”
On their very first episode together, O’Donnell insisted that despite Wallace’s membership in the Republican Party, “I really like her, I swear to God!” Well, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration.
