Rumsfeld: Investigation Into 9/11/12 Embassy Attacks Will Be ‘Quite Embarrassing For The Administration’

Former Bush Administration Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld appeared on Fox & Friends on Tuesday. There, he was asked for his thoughts on the 9/11/12 attacks on U.S. embassies in North Africa and how the fallout from those attacks would impact future American defense policy. Rumsfeld said that he thought it was clear that the attacks were not motivated by the video but by the anniversary of September 11. He went on to say that the results of a Congressional report on the attack would embarrass the administration of President Barack Obama.

Rumsfeld was asked for his thoughts on the impetus behind the attacks – whether the attackers were motivated, as the administration claims, by an offensive trailer on YouTube or something else.

“The reality is it can’t be the film. It has to be something connected to September 11, and there is an investigation going on by the House Intelligence committee,” said Rumsfeld. “We’ll soon know precisely what the facts are, and my guess is that they will be quite embarrassing for the administration.”

Gretchen Carlson wondered aloud whether the results of that investigation would emerge prior to the election on November 6.
