Sam Stein: Fox & Friends Chyron Operator Probably Has More Foreign Policy Influence Than Trump Advisers

On Thursday, Morning Joe seemed to agree that even though President Trump is hard to predict, it’s not really that hard to figure out where his mind is at in any given moment.

The panelists began by saying that between Trump’s congratulatory call to Vladimir Putin and Trump’s most recent slams on Robert Mueller, it appears the president frequently ignores his advisers. Mika Brzezinski went into particularly scathing detail about what people have to do to think like the president.

“Watch TV and watch his tweets. It’s unbelievable, it’s frightening, and it’s incredibly childish, and that is where we’re at with this president. Some may not agree with that, but I would watch cable news, watch our show, watch his tweets. It’s literally A, B, and C.”

From there, Sam Stein took a moment to snark about how much influence people have just by being part of Trump’s favorite show of all: Fox & Friends.

“We were joking in the news room that the chyron operator at Fox & Friends probably has more power over foreign policy than whoever wrote DO NOT CONGRATULATE,” Stein said, referring to reports that Trump’s advisers told him not to applaud Putin on his election win, advice he defied.
