Sanders: Wasserman Schultz Is Not ‘The Kind of Chair That the Democratic Party Needs’

Earlier today on CNN, Bernie Sanders made news by saying he wouldn’t keep on Debbie Wasserman Schultz as DNC chair and that he supports her opponent. Well, he doubled down in another Sunday show interview this morning.

On CBS’ Face the Nation, John Dickerson asked if he’s putting “kind of a target on Debbie Wasserman Schultz” in his crusade against the establishment.

“No,” he said. I’ve known Debbie for many years. I personally like her.”

But Sanders went on to say, “But do I think she’s the kind of chair that the Democratic party needs? No, I don’t. What we need right now is to revitalize democracy in America.”
