To close out his half-hour segment of the Democratic town hall Monday night, host Bret Baier pressed Sen. Bernie Sanders to name some of the Republicans he got along with — which the candidate refused to do, saying jocularly, “It would be a disservice” to out any GOPer as an ally.
Sanders had just wrapped up a long answer, emphasizing his success in the Senate with building bipartisan cooperation where there was common ground. “Who’s your favorite Republican?” Baier challenged.
“I’ll tell you something funny,” Sanders responded. “I won’t tell you. I have favorite Republicans. People I work with. If I tell you, that person — it would be a disservice to that person.”
