Sarah Sanders Addresses Reports of Her Imminent Resignation: ‘I’ll Pray for Clarity’

On Wednesday, reports surfaced that White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was planning to call it quits.

Sanders, who said she was at an event for her kindergartener when the story broke, quickly issued a not-quite-a-denial, insisting “I love my job and am honored to work for” Trump. However, in that tweet, she did not exactly say she was planning to stay.

Then on Thursday, Sanders once again muddied the waters when a reporter asked her during the press briefing about a number of rumored high-profile White House departures, including her Raj Shah, Marc Short and her own.

“I don’t know if there is a need to replace them,” she said before noting the CBS story breaking the news of her departure was “getting ahead of their skis.”

She added she had no personnel announcements at the time and stressed that she shows up every day and loves her job.

She did not exactly completely deny the report, however.

“I’m glad to work for the president [and] every day I’ll pray for clarity and discernment on what my future looks like,” she said, leaving it still up in the air.
