Sarah Sanders on Trump’s ‘Proof’ of Widow Call: No Recording But Others in the Room

During today’s press briefing, Sarah Huckabee Sanders addressed the supposed “proof” President Trump has to defend himself regarding the call to a grieving widow.

A Democratic congresswoman claimed Trump told Myeshia Johnson “he knew what he signed up for” and that he was being insensitive. Trump disputed that account and insisted he had proof to back him up, but Sgt. La David Johnson‘s mother confirmed the congresswoman’s account.

ABC’s Cecilia Vega asked Huckabee Sanders today if there are recordings of the call.

Huckabee Sanders said, “No, but there were several people in the room from the administration that were on the call, including… General John Kelly.”
