Sarah Sanders Reacts to Pelosi Saying White House Leaked Travel Plans: ‘That’s Outrageous’
On Saturday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders called it “outrageous” that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed the White House put her safety at risk.
“The base extremely pumped up about Trump’s move with the plane,” host Jesse Watters began. “That’s definitely gotten everybody excited. We now realize how intense this is. But now Nancy’s team is saying her safety was jeopardized because the White House leaked her travel plans. Do you care to respond to that?”
Sanders had some thoughts.
“That’s outrageous,” she said. “Nobody in this building is going to do anything to put the safety and security of any American, particularly those in service like Speaker Pelosi in any type of danger. The idea that we leaked her commercial travel is absolutely absurd and frankly it just dishonest.”
Then, turning to the mainstream media “folks” who called Pelosi’s move to call for the State of the Union a “power move,” she said this: “There is nothing powerful about the Speaker of the House questioning the ability of the United Secret Service…Frankly, it is shameful.”
This week, Pelosi pressed for the State of Union to be postponed.
That prompted Trump to cancel her military plane to visit troops in a war zone.
Pelosi canceled the trip and accused Trump of putting the delegation in danger.
“You never give advance notice of going into a battle area — you just never do it,” Pelosi told reporters. “Perhaps the president’s inexperience didn’t have him understand that protocol. The people around him, though, should have known that, because that’s very dangerous.”
