Sarah Sanders Swipes at the Press Amid North Korea Q’s: You ‘Elevated’ Them With Olympics Coverage
With North Korea big in the news today, a number of reporters pressed Sarah Sanders during today’s briefing about the potential of a meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong Un.
CBS News’ Chip Reid asked Huckabee Sanders if this would give the North Korean leader the “stature on the world stage” that he craves.
She made it clear to reporters multiple times today and said Trump “will not have the meeting without seeing concrete steps and concrete actions take place.”
When asked again about about potentially elevating Kim Jong Un, Huckabee Sanders got in a dig against the press by saying, “I’m glad that you guys are acknowledging a lot of the problems in North Korea, because just a couple of weeks ago, a lot of members in the press were actually elevating North Korea and some of the members of the regime and comparing them to people in the United States and in this administration.”
