Seahawks Star Doesn’t Care for This Presser: ‘I’m Here So I Won’t Get Fined’

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is no fan of the media. That was on full display at Super Bowl media day on Tuesday, when he prefaced his press conference by telling reporters they can ask him however many questions they want to — but cautioned them that he would give the same answer to each one.

And that’s exactly what he did: “I’m here so I won’t get fined.”

“You better make more with your time, you only got three more minutes,” he said at another point.

In other words, Lynch only showed up to media day so that the NFL would not slap him with an exorbitant fine. After the press conference (if you want to call it that), ESPN analysts defended Lynch. Talking to the media is just “not his style,” they concurred, commending Lynch’s honesty.

Lynch is no stranger to these types of responses. During a November postgame questioning, Lynch answered every one with, “yeah.”
