Sebastian Gorka Warns CPAC Attendees on the Evils of Stalinism: ‘They Want to Take Away Your Hamburgers’
Former Trump Deputy Assistant Sebastian Gorka warned attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference about the evils of Stalinism Thursday morning, using hamburgers in a metaphor about communist redistribution.
“According to the amazing victims of the Communism Memorial Foundation, they did a poll last year in which they found that 52% of American millennials would like to live in a socialist or communist America,” said Gorka, as the crowd booed. “That is where 40, 4-0 Democratic candidates in the last midterm election called themselves socialists.”
Gorka described Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘s (D-NY) Green New Deal as a “watermelon: green on the outside, deep, deep red communist on the inside.” He asserted socialism will never become the ultimate fate of the United States under President Donald Trump, but warned of a hard-left culture war promoted by socialist, secretly communism-loving politicians.
“They want to take your pickup truck, they want to rebuild your home, they want to take away your hamburgers. This is what Stalin dreamt about but never achieved,” he said.
Under Stalin, the Soviets did attempt to introduce hamburgers, but according to Soviet-born culinary writer Anya Von Bremzen, “the buns… were dispensed with during World War Two. The result was kotlety, a Russian dish much-loved today.”
