Sen. Blumenthal: I Think There’s Still ‘Strong Possibility’ of Indictments in Trump’s Future

Per multiple reports, Robert Mueller is not recommending any further indictments. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D- CT), however, said on MSNBC tonight Trump could still face an indictment from other investigations.

Blumenthal told Ari Melber that there needs to be “absolute and complete transparency” regarding Mueller’s report, saying the findings will likely show “a lot of criminality” and wrongdoing.

“There are obviously other investigations that have been spawned and spun off by the facts in evidence that Robert Mueller has found, in the Southern District of New York,” he said. “I think there is a high likelihood that there are indictments in this president’s future.”

At one point, Melber noted the “indications this is the end” and asked, “Does that mean there are no possible sealed indictments left or do we not know that yet?”

“I think there is a strong possibility of additional indictments including President Trump’s family,” Blumenthal said. “Maybe not by the Department of Justice. I know you want to stick to the Mueller report, but the Mueller report cannot be viewed in isolation.”
