Sen. Graham: There’s a ‘Snowball’s Chance in Hell’ I’d Convince Anyone Comey is a Reliable Witness
On Thursday night, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) briefly weighed in on the latest headlines coming from ongoing investigations occurring in Washington D.C.
Fox News @ Night anchor Shannon Bream asked the lawmaker, as a former attorney, what he thought about the criminal referral by the DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to the US attorney as well as the sharp response by McCabe’s legal team.
“Mr. Horwitz have a has a reputation of being fair-minded. He was basically a Democrat, but I think he’s doing a good job,” Graham responded. “The attorneys can say what they would like, but it would bother me greatly if I was Mr. McCabe’s lawyer to have the inspector general say ‘I believe a crime was committed here.’ Now Mr. Mccabe is innocent until proven otherwise, but I think this is just another example how corrupt the Department of Justice was.”
The GOP senator then praised the latest addition to President Trump‘s legal team, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, while taking a swipe at former FBI Director James Comey.
“Rudy was a good choice by President Trump to be on his legal team. But I’ve been a prosecutor and defense attorney long before I got into politics. If Jim Comey were my witness, I don’t think I’d have a snowball’s chance in hell of convincing anybody that he’s reliable.
