Republican Senator Susan Collins hit back at Steve Bannon for his warning about targeting Republican senators who aren’t getting behind President Trump‘s agenda.
On ABC’s This Week this morning, Collins told George Stephanopoulos it’s “not appropriate at all.”
She said the former White House chief strategist can support whomever he wants, but added, “I think his rhetoric is exactly what the American people are tired of. They don’t want this hyper-partisanship.”
Bannon has framed this as a “war” between the people and the establishment, including at the Values Voter Summit yesterday, but Collins panned his “over-the-top rhetoric” as unhelpful.
