Seth Meyers Blasts Trump For Canceled North Korea Summit: ‘He Had No Idea What He Was Doing’
Seth Meyers mocked President Trump over his cancellation of the North Korea summit that was scheduled to take place next month.
Meyers began by telling his audience that he was “so excited” about the peace talks between Trump and North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un that he bought one of those commemorative coins from the White House website because he “wanted to be a part of history.”
After expressing good wishes for the president, “breaking news” interrupted saying that he had cancelled the June 12 summit.
“Damn it!” Meyers exclaimed as he chucked the coin away. “Although, it’s my fault. I should have learned my lesson after I bought my commemorative coins for the Completed Border Wall, Biggest Inauguration Ever, Anthony Scaramucci‘s First 100 Days On The Job, Cleared of All Charges, and People‘s Sexiest Man Alive.”
The Late Night host insisted that Trump “made clear” that he “had no idea what he’s doing” and referred to a clip of the president being asked what denuclearization of North Korea would look like, which he responded by saying he had a “strong idea” of how it would take place and that he has “strong opinions on the subject.”
“Once again, Donald Trump is a teenager who didn’t prepare his oral report and is now stalling for the bell to ring,” Meyers joked.
“‘I know a lot about the Louisiana Purchase,'” Meyers impersonated the president. “‘It’s a fascinating, fascinating purchase. And uh… I have very strong feelings about it that I want to share with you…'”
