Seth Meyers Sums Up College Admission Scandal: ‘Rich People Are Insane’

On Wednesday, Late Night host Seth Meyers summed up the college admission scandal and Paul Manafort‘s most recent legal woes in four words: “Rich people are insane.”

Meyers’ remarks came during his most recent Closer Look segment, which focused on the scandal that ensnared Hollywood stars — including Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin — in a scam that used college admission cheats and fake athletic ability to get children of the rich into elite colleges.

Claiming that the last 24 hours have really pulled back the curtain on “wealth and power” in America, Meyers detailed the college admission scandal before noting it happened at the same time as former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort was indicted in one case sentenced “in another case, after he was already sentenced last week in a third case in which he was accused of stealing money and spending it on a jacket made from an ostrich.”

Meyers then stressed: “Rich people are insane.”
