Seth Meyers Weighs in on New Late Night Competition James Corden

Seth Meyers has been handily beating his current late night competition Craig Ferguson in the ratings since he debuted on NBC in the 12:35 p.m. slot earlier this year. But come 2015, he will have a new CBS host to contend with. And while that network has not yet confirmed the rumors, it appears that it will be British comedian James Corden.

Ahead of his 2014 Emmy Awards hosting gig later this month, The Wrap asked Meyers what he thinks of his potential ratings competitor.

“We met at a dinner years ago,” Meyers said of Corden. ”I’ve run into him at a few of Hulu’s Upfronts, and we’re actually friendly every time I’ve run into him. He’s such a wildly talented person, so I’m really happy for him. I think he’ll do a great job.”

Meyers and Corden each his shows on Hulu’s streaming video service. Meyers produces and serves as a voice actor for the animated series The Awesomes and Corden stars in the modern spy series The Wrong Mans. Watch trailers for both below:
