Al Sharpton spoke with Detroit pastor Bishop Wayne T. Jackson this morning about Donald Trump‘s visit to his church yesterday and what he told him in private.
Trump sat down with Jackson before services yesterday and Jackson told Sharpton he wanted to share his concerns with Trump about things like unarmed shootings of young black men.
But Sharpton wanted to know if Trump got into any “specific policies.” After some prying, Jackson seemed to indicate Trump did not get very specific.
He did tell Sharpton that he encouraged Trump to meet and engage with other black leaders, including Sharpton himself, because we must “reason together.”
Sharpton said, “We do have to reason together, but we also have to repent together. Did he repent of any of the ugly, venomous things that he’s been saying?”
