Shep Smith: Isn’t Congress Acting ‘Cowardly’ in Dealing with ISIS?
Shepard Smith sometimes just can’t help himself and says what’s on his mind. And today he did it again, calling out Congress for being “cowardly” in dealing with the ISIS threat. Smith interviewed State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki today when he made the rather candid remark.
Psaki said, “I certainly wouldn’t use that terminology.” Smith said he would, arguing that you’d figure the question of “whether we’re at war or we’re at peace” should be of paramount importance to America’s elected representatives. But, Smith charged, they’re far more interested in keeping their jobs than doing them.
Smith also got in a shot at the White House “skirting the Constitution” by acting without congressional approval in the first place. All Psaki could say was that “dysfunction in Washington” isn’t new, but that the U.S. isn’t going to wait to take drastic action against foreign threats.
