Sam Nunberg has yet to give Fox News a wild interview for today, but Shepard Smith has noticed the ex-Trump aide’s refusal to testify before a federal grand jury, and he’s not so sure that’s a wise legal decision.
Nunberg electrified the political/media world today by giving multiple phone interviews and going on raving monologues about how he won’t comply with a subpoena from Robert Mueller‘s investigative team. Nunberg told reporters that he plans to go on TV at some point to tear up the subpoena, and Smith had a few things to say about that idea.
“If you don’t answer a subpoena with ‘Yeah, I’ll be there,’ they usually lock you up,” Smith said. “That’s normally how this works. I don’t know what is going to happen here. We shall see.”
Smith spoke to reporter John Roberts about all of this, and the latter said there’s a real chance Nunberg could go to jail if he doesn’t become more cooperative with the special counsel. Roberts proceeded by going over the ramifications for what Nunberg said about how Trump “might have done something” during the election that could legally expose him to Mueller.
