Saturday Night Live has had its fair share of fun with MSNBC’s Al Sharpton in the past. And tonight, SNL‘s Kenan Thompson gave his own rendition of Revered Al’s reaction to the Secret Service mess, among other issues.
So what’s going on with the Secret Service, Al? “It’s a secret,” he said. He doesn’t think the American people are getting the full story with the recent White House security breaches. According to him, the fence-jumper was actually able to get all the way to the Lincoln bedroom and had time to order a sandwich and start watching Mr. and Mrs. Obama’s personal copy of “The Butler,” and wasn’t apprehended for an hour.
Sharpton, who is no stranger to teleprompter lapses, then confusedly read his network as “Ms. NBC,” and said it must be the women’s version of NBC. He also doesn’t think the Secret Service is truly a reformed agency because America is now a scary place where this new virus called Ebola can be spread through email.
He also read “PBS” as “Pubis” when trying to explain statistics on how bad America’s gun culture is, and promised to do everything he can to protect President Obama — that is, every weeknight from 6 to 7 p.m., he said.
