Saturday Night Live is having one of its best seasons yet, both in terms of ratings and quality. There’s been no shortage of content, and it’s consistently one of the most talked-about programs all week. So, for the final four episodes of the season, they’re letting everyone across the country watch it in real time by doing nationwide live telecasts, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ordinarily, the show airs later in the mountains and on the west coast. NBC’s entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt told THR, “That way, everyone is in on the joke at the same time. Kudos to Lorne Michaels, the producers and cast for making SNL one of the most relevant and anticipated shows in the zeitgeist.”
They also announced the last four hosts of the season: Jimmy Fallon, Chris Pine, Melissa McCarthy, and Dwayne Johnson.

Fallon was a well-liked cast member on the show in the late 1990s and early 2000s. McCarthy, of course, has earned rave reviews for her impression of Sean Spicer this season. Clearly, they’re going for it right through to the finish line.
