SNL Weekend Update cut right to the chase tonight when they acknowledged that Minnesota Senator and SNL alumnus Al Franken has become the latest public figure to come under scrutiny for inappropriate behavior towards women.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and as Colin Jost noted, that would actually mean something “unless you are a human woman.” Jost said that even though Franken took his creepy photo with Leeann Tweeden before running for public office, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s as bad for the senator as it looks.
“Come on man, didn’t the troops have it hard enough without having to sit through sketch comedy?” Jost asked. “People can barely stay up to watch sketches after Weekend Update.”
Michael Che also got it on this, focusing on how President Trump condemned Franken while ignoring the “way worse” charges against Republican senate candidate Roy Moore.
“In this country, everybody has to pick a side,” Che said. “Except for me. I think they are all bitches.”
