Hours ahead of the second presidential debate, MSNBC reporter Jacob Soboroff ran into a couple in North Carolina to get their opinion on this year’s presidential election and see who they’re voting for.
After host Hallie Jackson noted that North Carolina is one of the closest battleground states this election, she tossed it to Soboroff, who was at a pumpkin festival in Boone, NC. Speaking to the young couple, Soboroff wanted to see if Donald Trump’s recent “grab ’em by the pussy” remarks were going to have any sway on their votes.
Following the wife’s declaration that she was not going to vote for Hillary Clinton and wanted to just leave it there, her husband told Soboroff that this election came down to “a liar” and a “dirty grandpa.” Without missing a beat, Soboroff asked the man, “So, you’re gonna go with the dirty grandpa?” The North Carolina man, who already stated he was a Republican, shrugged and said “I don’t know.”
Finishing up the quick interview, Soboroff wanted to know if they planned on watching the debate and what questions they wanted to see asked of the candidates. The woman said she was skipping but that her husband planned on watching. He basically stated that all he wanted to see was honesty from Hillary Clinton and Trump.
