South Park Returns With Promo Mocking Colin Kaepernick Protest

south-parkSouth Park released its first promo for its return to Comedy Central Wednesday, with the newest episode set to mock backup 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for his anti-police national anthem protest and “cops are pigs” socks.

The promo features the cast of the show singing along to the tune of the Star Spangled Banner, “Colin Kaepernick is great, Cops are pigs, cops are pigs.”

…before they suddenly switch gears. “Wait, someone just took my stuff, I need to call the cops. Oh, no, I just said cops are pigs. Who’s gonna help me get my stuff? Why did I listen to Colin Kaepernick, he’s not even any good.”

“Oh, I just got all my stuff back,” the song ends. “Cops are pigs again, cops are pigs. Colin Kaepernick makes a good backup.”

South Park also took aim at trendy, liberal anti-police sentiment in its previous season when newly-gentrified South Park sidelined police, only to realize they actually needed them.
