‘Spicey Finally Made a Mistake’: Melissa McCarthy Lampoons Press Sec’s Holocaust Gaffe on SNL
Melissa McCarthy brought her Sean Spicer impression back to Saturday Night Live, and she poked fun at the press secretary’s troubles over what he said about the Holocaust this week.
Appearing in Spicer’s infamous bunny costume (yes, that one), McCarthy yelled at Easter egg hunters about how everyone got their wish for Spicer to apologize for favorably comparing Adolf Hitler to Bashar al-Assad.
“Spicey finally made a mistake,” said the press secretary. “I know they’re not really called the ‘Holocaust centers’…I clearly meant to say ‘concentration club,’ okay? Let it drop!”
McCarthy-Spicer eventually brought out props to help contextualize her remarks with respect to Passover, but she almost ended up going right back to her Holocaust gaffe.
“[Pharoah’s] doing some really bad stuff to the Jews, okay?” McCarthy-Spicer said. “I mean he even Hitler…you know what, not gonna do it. Not gonna go there again.”
After her bizarre retelling of the story of Passover, McCarthy-Spicer concluded her announcement with a minor note: “the president is probably going to bomb North Korea tonight.” The press secretary didn’t have a mobile lectern this time, but don’t worry though, because she had a motorized Easter egg car to demolish the White House Easter Egg Roll.
