Stephanie Ruhle Goes Off on Kilmeade for Comments on Migrant Children: ‘It’s Ignorant, It’s Stupid’

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle called out Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade for the stunning comments he made this morning talking about immigration and the child separation crisis.

To recap, while talking about President Trump‘s harsh immigration policy, the Fox & Friends host said, “Like it or not, these aren’t our kids. Show them compassion, but it’s not like he is doing this to the people of Idaho or Texas. These are people from another country and now people are saying that they’re more important than people in our country who are paying taxes and who have needs as well.”

In a segment this morning, Ruhle briefly showed the clip of Kilmeade’s remarks before saying this:

“I don’t think there’s anyone who’s saying a life of a child in Idaho or Iowa means less than someone on the other side of the border. I think this is about humanity and the mistreatment of children. And if you are so worried about how every American child is treated, think about the money that… is being flushed down the toilet for this political theater.”

“Please, with your propaganda,” she continued, “that anyone is putting the life of a migrant child ahead of a life of an American child is simply nonsense. It’s ignorant, it’s stupid, it’s wrong.”

Kilmeade got roundly trashed this morning for his take, with CNN’s Chris Cuomo calling his remarks “shameful.”
