Stephanopoulos Pries a Barely Civil Interview out of Priebus and Wasserman-Schultz
Party chairs Debbie Wasserman-Schutlz (D-FL) and Reince Priebus have combined for two of the most appalling televised segments in recent memory, completely overrunning hosts on Fox and CNN in their volume-increasing battle to have the last word.
So points to ABC News and George Stephanopoulos for wrangling a comparatively civil (as in, you can make out what each one of them is saying) interview from the pair. Stephanopoulos separated the two, addressed each individually, and did not keep the other on camera while his or her opponent was talking, thus making it less a battle than two distinct but alternating interviews and damping down on the shoutfest aspect. Stephanopoulos was also forceful at cutting his guests off when each was picking up steam.
Was there still some sniping? There was. But at least only one person spoke at a given time. Hurray for basic comity?
