Stephen Colbert Warns Hillary Clinton Could Be Solange to the GOP’s Jay Z
Republicans have been spending so much time criticizing Hillary Clinton over the last few weeks you could almost think they’re scared of her potential 2016 presidential bid. “That’s ridiculous!” Stephen Colbert said Tuesday. “We’re not afraid of Hillary Clinton.”
In fact, Colbert agreed with RNC Chairman Reince Priebus that Clinton likely won’t even run for the Democratic nomination, what with all those rumors swirling around about Benghazi, Monica Lewinsky and brain damage. “All those questions of character have to put a strain on her,” Colbert said. “I know coming up with them put a strain on me.”
“So you’d better think twice, Hillary,” Colbert added. “After all, the election is still two years away and we’ve already popped open a can of metaphorical whoop ass.” As pundits have been saying since Karl Rove brought up Hillary’s brain, the “gloves are off” and will likely stay that way.
“This is hand-to-hand combat, and the GOP will be the Jay Z to Hillary’s Solange,” Colbert said. “For one thing, Republicans would never get into an elevator with that many black people.”
