Stewart and Colbert to Go Live for Midterm Election Night

As they have done in the past, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will be airing their respective Comedy Central shows live on Election Night next Tuesday so they can react to midterm results as they happen instead of being hopelessly behind the curve with pre-taped comedy.

In a press release, the network announced that The Daily Show’s “Democalypse 2014: America Remembers It Forgot to Vote” will feature a live via satellite interview with RNC chairman Reince Priebus, while The Colbert Report’s “Midterms ‘014: Detour to Gridlock: An Exciting Thing That I Am Totally Interested In—Wait! Don’t Change the Channel. Look at this Video of a Duckling Following a Cat Dressed Like a Shark Riding a Roomba! ‘014!” will include an appearance by Andrew Sullivan.

In addition to airing on Comedy Central, viewers will be able to live stream the event on as well as through the Comedy Central app.

Here’s a flashback to last year’s live Daily Show, in which Stewart announced after all of the billions spent on ads, nothing had really changed:
