Stewart Worries America Has No Chance of Winning the ‘Homophobic Olympics’ This Year

America has its share of homophobia, but it’s no longer in the big leagues, Jon Stewart lamented Tuesday, because of all the insane, over-the-top homophobia all over the world. So in this year’s “Homophobic Olympics,” countries like Uganda or Russia look very good to take the gold.

Stewart ran the gamut from India to Nigeria and Uganda to “the gayphobic country to beat”: Mother Russia. Stewart mocked Vladimir Putin‘s plea for gays not to touch children, likening it to the U.S. allowing in Russians but asking them not to f*ck the bears.

But Aasif Mandvi came on to assure Stewart that there’s plenty of homophobia the U.S. has to compete with, from the Bachelor to a Utah official going on a hunger strike until gay people no longer have rights, just like Gandhi.
