Stormy Daniels Lawyer: Cohen Outing Hannity in Court Was ‘Like a Bomb Going Off’

Stormy Daniels lawyer Michael Avenatti joined MSNBC on Monday to provide a first-hand account of the whiplash Michael Cohen’s lawyers generated by revealing Cohen’s working relationship with Sean Hannity.

Cohen revealed Hannity as his mysterious third client today despite previous attempts to keep the Fox opinion host’s name private. Avenatti and his client both attended court today, and they watched the proceedings while Cohen tried challenging the FBI over their recent raid on his office and seizure of various documents pertaining to the Daniels-hush money saga.

Of course, when President Trump‘s personal lawyer ended up outing Hannity as the client who wished to remain anonymous, it created an instant news frenzy for much of the political media. When Ari Melber asked Avenatti to talk about what the reaction in court was like, the lawyer said the revelation was a jaw-dropper for everyone.

“It was like a bomb going off in the courtroom,” Avenatti said. “There was a huge lead up to the disclosure of this name. Michael Cohen’s counsel fought very, very hard to keep from disclosing this name.”
