Ted Nugent was supposed to appear on CNN Wednesday evening just hours after he compared the network to Nazi “propaganda” and accused Wolf Blitzer of failing as a journalist. But at the last minute, he canceled on anchor Erin Burnett “because he was sick” according to a spokesperson for CNN.
As Burnett explained, Nugent had even promoted his CNN appearance earlier in the day on his Twitter account, but decided against it just over two hours before he was scheduled to go on the air.

Burnett played the clip of Nugent referring to President Barack Obama as a “subhuman mongrel,” which she, like Blitzer, noted is “a term that Nazis called Jews to justify the genocide of the Jewish community.”
While Blitzer and others have suggested that politicians might want to keep their distance from the conservative rocker in light of his remarks, Texas gubernatorial candidate and Attorney General Greg Abbott (R-TX) has embraced him publicly on the campaign trail. Today, Sarah Palin endorsed Abbott on Facebook, writing, “If he is good enough for Ted Nugent, he is good enough for me!”
