Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe talked about resisting the tyranny of kings in responding to President Trump‘s executive order on immigration.
McAuliffe appeared with MSNBC’s Kate Snow today to discuss the president’s travel ban and his state joining the lawsuit against it.
The governor said, “This is not the America that we know, the values system that our nation has been founded upon, and I’m very concerned about the actions that have been taken.”
As he railed against the order and warner about how it could impact the U.S. domestically and abroad, McAuliffe actually said this:
“236 years ago, right here in Virginia… we ended the tyranny of one king, and 236 years later we’re not allowing another king of this country.”
