Fourth grade students at El Paso, Texas’ Hughey Elementary School were made to draw pictures of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Fox & Friends reported Friday morning, including depictions of the burning towers, hijacked aircraft, and people falling from buildings.
The New York Daily News reports that one student’s mother shared her child told her that, “We had to try the boom cloud and the planes hitting and we had to draw people jumping out of the windows.”
The school district responded by releasing a statement saying that “EPISD is very concerned about the images that were drawn in response to a lesson on the events of September 11.”
