‘That Is a Talking Point’: Don Lemon, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy Spar Over Trump’s Susan Rice Remarks
CNN’s Don Lemon sparred with Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy tonight over President Trump saying today that Susan Rice may have committed a crime.
Ruddy said that Trump’s initial surveillance claim has not been discredited and that there’s serious questions about Rice’s actions. Lemon told him he’s not understanding how unmasking works and said there is no evidence or proof of Trump’s tweet.
Ruddy took a few shots at the media during the segment, asking Lemon at one point, “Don, are you drinking Kool-Aid tonight?
He said that there are parts of this––like the leaking of phone call transcripts between the president and foreign leaders––that CNN isn’t talking about so much.
Lemon said it’s a problem when Trump “makes some assertion with no proof” or “tweets something that is just wildly outrageous” every day, saying that even some of Trump’s own supporters want him to stop.
He also asked why Trump, if he really thinks Rice committed a crime, couldn’t find out if that was true himself.
