‘That Seems Very Partisan, Congressman’: Fox’s MacCallum Faces Off With House Intel Democrat

Fox News’s Martha MacCallum clashed tonight with Eric Swalwell, a Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, over why he’s not more curious to look into Susan Rice‘s alleged involvement in unmasking Team Trump members.

MacCallum asked Swalwell about his comment earlier today that having Rice appear before any panel would be an “unnecessary hurdle.” Swalwell responded, “Because there’s no evidence that there was any wrongdoing, but if the Republicans think that this has to be on the witness list, we’ll clear that hurdle and we’ll make it to the finish line.”

MacCallum pressed, saying that he should have some “curiosity” about whether anything improper happened. If nothing happened, she argued, that’s fine, but they should at least be questioning Rice.

Swalwell responded, “We don’t have time to have curiosity on what Donald Trump makes up.” He told MacCallum that it sounds like a tactic to distract and she responded, “That seems very partisan, Congressman.”
