This past Sunday the Discovery Channel aired a special called Eaten Alive in which no one was eaten alive. Well, the closest we got last night was Paul Rosolie getting chewed out by Jimmy Kimmel for not delivering on what he promised. And the man who backed out of being completely consumed by an anaconda had some explaining to do…
Rosolie took it all in good humor, lightly referring to how he backed out because his bones were being crushed and on the verge of cracking. Kimmel asked the obvious question: didn’t you know that was going to happen?
But the much bigger question here is why he did it in the first place. Rosolie says the main thrust of the special called Eaten Alive was not about being eaten alive, but about drawing attention to the Amazon ecosystem and trying to keep it intact for all its inhabitants.
Kimmel asked if it’s “troubling” to him that people are upset he wasn’t eaten. Rosolie said, “No, not really, ’cause I think they missed the point of the whole show, then. But I could destroy at Mean Tweets.”
