The Five: Political Correctness Causing Authorities to Ignore Pilots’ Muslim Faith
Bob Beckel, who has never been shy when it comes to his feeling about Islam, introduced the final segment of The Five Friday by asking, “Is political correctness getting in the way of the missing plane investigation?” Noting that the two pilots on board were both Muslim (like 65% of Malaysians), Beckel said their potential “radicalization” would have been the first thing he looked into if he were investigating the incident.
“There’s a good chance a substantial population of the cabin, the passengers, are Muslim as well,” Eric Bolling added. “So you have to go through, you have to find out who has political ties, extremist ties.”
While Dana Perino didn’t think there was anything “prejudiced” about the investigation so far, she did wonder “whether or not we soft pedaled it up until now.”
The lone dissenting voice was Greg Gutfeld, who compared Beckel’s scenario to the days after the Boston Marathon bombing when people though the tea party might have been behind it because it happened on tax day. “I don’t feel comfortable saying ‘It’s Muslims’ because I don’t like it when they do it to the tea party,” he said.
