The Five Wonders What George Conway is Trying to Get from Trump Feud: ‘Maybe he’s Angling for a CNN Contributorship’

The ongoing Twitter war between George Conway and Donald Trump was up on Fox’s The Five this Thursday, and obviously and particularly what it says about Conway’s relationship with his wife, Kellyanne Conway. During the discussion they speculated on exactly what Mr. Conway may be hoping to get from all this.

Juan Williams introduced the discussion, saying “if it’s real” that Kellyanne Conway’s remarks to FBN’s Maria Bartiromo indicate she and her husband don’t really talk about this ongoing dispute at home after showing a clip.

When Williams turned to co-host Jesse Watters, he prompted him by asking what Trump fans think of Conway calling Trump a “narcissist” and ‘antisocial,” which is barely a prompt because is there actually a question about how Trump fans feel about that?

“He should look in the mirror,” said Watters, referring to Conway’s comments about Trump’s mental health. “Talk about psychologically imbalanced, I don’t know what this guy’s up to.”

He said he doesn’t have “a lot” to say about their marriage and that it’s “a private matter,” but added that “Kellyanne Conway is handling it gracefully.”

“I hate to see her embarrassed by this. It looks like George might have Trump derangement syndrome and maybe he’s angling for a CNN contributorship. I don’t know what’s going on,” he said. “I kind of don’t want to know what’s going on and I hope we can all move on.”

For her part, co-host Dana Perino said that obviously George Conway wants people to notice the feud, and she doesn’t understand what is his “desired outcome.”

“What do you want to happen. You’re not the first to say the president has narcissistic personality disorder. What do you think you’re going to accomplish, that you’re going to be able to do that nobody else is able to do by saying the same thing?” she asked. “Like, what do you want? Do you want to make life harder for your wife at the White house? Do you think it doesn’t affect her at the White House? Do you want President Trump to be able to paint you as a worse husband than he?”

“It’s an incredible situation. I wish we could just not talk about it,” said Perino.
